Baptism

What is it?


Baptism is:

  • A sacrament of the New Testament
  • Ordained by Jesus Christ
  • To be outwardly administered with water
  • For solemn admission into the visible Church
  • A sign and seal of the Covenant of Grace
  • A symbol of regeneration and newness of life
  • For both professing believers and their children
  • Not neccessary for salvation (though neglect is a great sin)
  • Only to be administered once to any person.

What is the proper mode of baptism?

- Should infants be baptized? Or professing believers only?
