The Mode of Baptism

Immerse, Sprinkle, or Pour?

Affusion (sprinkling/pouring) is the baptismal mode taught by the Bible:

• Jesus baptized by affusion
• The Ethiopian eunuch baptized by sprinkling
• The Israelites baptized by sprinkling
• Sprinkling according to Ezekiel
• Sprinkling - Baptism into death
• Affusion - The only logistical choice
• Immersion for God's enemies

Immersion (dunking) is not the baptismal mode taught by the Bible:

• The Ethiopian eunuch not baptized by immersion
• Jesus not baptized by immersion
• Paul not a teacher of baptism by immersion
• John the baptist not baptizing by immersion
• Immersion for God's enemies
